Stuff White People Like

I know that I have not blogged in forever! I have so much to catch up on and I plan on doing that soon! This semester I started the Elementary Program at BYU. I love all of my classes and I am discovering that I truly love teaching and I am receiving a confirmation that it is what I am supposed to do for a career.

So for my Foundations of Multicultural Education class I had to go to this website called stuff white people like and choose one of the articles that I felt like I connected with! I chose an article called picking their own fruit. In the article it talks about how white people want to move out to country and have their own gardens and harvest their own crops but they don't want to do all f the work that is involved.

For my class I have to write a review on the comments that I get for this post so if you can take a few minutes to read the short article and write a comment of your thoughts on the article that would be great! Thank you!

Here are some questions to guide your comments:
Do you think that this a accurate interpretation of white people?
Is it uncomfortable for you to read negative comments or opinions of white people?
Have you ever fallen subject of this stereotype?

Thanks again!

Have a great day! Stay tuned for an amazing catch up post!

Slice 2: You Tube

My second slice of happiness was a no brainier. This summer I have a lot of free time on my hands so you tube has become one of my best friends. As sad as it sounds it is true! I have my favorite videos that I enjoy watching over and over again and they make me so happy.  The videos help me forget about my life as I stare at the small screen on my phone and enjoy the magic of the video. It is just so fun to get a sneak peak into celebrities lives through their music videos or appearances. Oh......I have made myself sound so pathetic but whatever. Moral of the story is that you tube is a wonderful invention! Please take a look at these videos! I promise they will make you happy! Then please comment and let me know what you think. I would also love to hear about your favorite you tube videos!

Enjoy!

My ultimate favorite!  I love me some JB! I love how sweet he is with the little girl!

This is when I fell in love with Paul on American Idol! He is amazing!

Bruno Mars is genius! I love this song and the monkeys are a nice bonus!

Love the Carter Twins! I could post all their covers because I love them all but this is my fav. If you like it then please check the rest out!

Welcome to the Future! I don't know why I love this one so much but I really do!

Last but not least!

This puts the biggest smile on my face! :)

There are so many more so maybe there will be a you tube favorites part 2?

Slice 1: Feeling Good in My Own Skin

So, first of all I just wanted to thank all of you for all of your kind comments on my first post. I feel like I had a proper welcome into the blogging world and I am ready to take on the pressure that comes with the task of writing for an audience. I have thought long and hard about what my first slice of happiness should be.

I decided to dig deep and get personal so brace yourselves.......

I have recently had an experience that made me realize that I truly feel good in my own skin. Before I explain that let's go on a little walk down memory lane.

This is me when I was about three or four years old. I love this picture because I look so happy and innocent.

Then the older I got the harder life got. It sounds cheesy but it is the truth. In junior high and high school I lacked a lot of self confidence and I was just so ready for that time in my life to be over.

Here I am with my sweet parents right before my high school graduation two years ago. I look so happy but to be honest I was really scared for the future.

Then I had the wonderful opportunity to attend Mesa Community College. It was scary and hard but that experience changed my life. I learned so much about myself and truly discovered who I am.

This is me on my 19th birthday last year. I think this is really when I began to be happy with myself!

It is a wonderful feeling to say that  I am so very happy to be me! I don't want to be anyone else but myself. I have always struggled with being my true self around people that I don't know but I have finally broken out of my shell and I am comfortable with myself.

I have a lot of change going on in my life right now and so this event that helped me discover my true self  couldn't have happened at a better time. In approximately 77 days (not that I am counting or anything) I will be headed up to Provo, Utah to attend Brigham Young University.

Me and my brother (who is coming up to the Y with me) in our Cougar Blue!

The fact that I know that I feel good in my own skin makes me so happy because I know that it will help me make new friends in Utah and have fun!

In Front of My Future Home in Provo!

It is a wonderful feeling to feel good about yourself! I know this is a little deep for a second post but I hope that all of you feel good in your own skin and that you are happy to be you!

Thank you for reading!

Hello Friends!

Hi! I feel like everyone that starts a blog says that they have blog stalked forever and have finally decided to cave in and join the blogging world. Well.... nothing is new here because I fit into that typical new blogger stereotype. However, I am excited to finally have a blog. I feel like all of you bloggers out there are truly my friends because I have read about your thoughts, day to day to lives, inspiration, craft projects for so long that it is time to let you all enjoy a slice of my happiiness. I truly intend on sharing a slice of what makes me happy! I hope it is fun to read and that it is enjoyable if not then oh well.... I will just continue to blog stalk.

Until next time remember to smile!
